SEO Services

SEO for UK Service Businesses

A website that doesn’t appear in searches isn’t much use. Neither is a website that ranks for the wrong keywords. If your website isn’t ranking, isn’t converting visitors to enquiries or sales, or is attracting the wrong type of customers, you’re wasting a valuable resource. You need SEO services that fix all the issues, not just throw in some keywords.

Signs your website needs effective SEO services

  • Your website looks good, but isn’t generating enquiries
  • You rely on referrals as your website doesn’t generate new business
  • You don’t show up in searches for your services
  • You’re ranking for the wrong keywords and search terms
  • You’re getting the wrong type of traffic so it doesn’t convert
  • Enquiries show people clearly don’t get what you actually do
  • You’ve had a new website design but not much else has changed
  • You’re publishing content but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference
  • Your competitors appear in searches, even though you know you’re better

Your website deserves more

Your business and services might be strong, but without the right SEO strategy your website will, at best, be underperforming and, at worst, be damaging your reputation.

If the concept of search engine optimisation feels too vague, too technical, too expensive, or too easy to get wrong, you’ve probably been talking to the wrong people.

If you’ve worked with SEOs before and were promised the world but weren’t impressed, you’ve definitely been talking to the wrong people.

SEO that fixes, not causes, problems

With great copy, relevant content, and the right on-page and technical search engine optimisation, your website should be ranking for the right search terms and bringing in high-quality leads. Good SEO never loses sight of the fact you’re writing for people first.

Keyword stuffing or no targeted keywords, a lack of content or content that’s generic, irrelevant, or badly focused will have the opposite effect. And all the on-page SEO in the world won’t save you from the damage poor technical SEO can do.

Good SEO focuses on clarity, structure, and solid foundations – not quick fixes or dodgy tactics. And that’s what you’ll get.

What you should expect from SEO

SEO is an investment and it will take time to yield results. You can’t expect to be at the top of Google at the end of week one. Not even at the end of month one. There are some keywords you will never, ever be able to rank first for. And that’s fine.

We’ll find the search terms you need to target to make a difference to your business, not for vanity metrics or unrealistic expectations. And you don’t need a whole different approach for AI or GEO – generative-search-engine optimisation – either. Good SEO practice serves them too.

SEO is a process and I will guide you through it. You’ll know what we’re doing and why, all backed up by research and data. And the sooner you get started, the better.

  • I make sure your service pages and content are structured and written to match real search intent and prove trust and authority so they attract the right visitors.
  • I ensure you’ve got targeted, commercial keyword research, meta data tags, internal linking, and all the other things Google and AI search are looking for.
  • I address the technical factors that support performance, including site speed, mobile usability, and indexing.
  • I manage your Google Search Console and you get a monthly call and a monthly report.
  • I can recommend (and write) the content you need to fill content gaps and improve your copy, including blogs and case studies.

  • Strategy call – once you’re ready to go ahead we’ll need to dig deeper into your business. I’ll audit your site with a view to creating a bespoke strategy for you.
  • Implementation –  I work on the things that are holding you back, whether it’s on-page optimisation, keyword research, content creation, or a technical fix.
  • Reporting – I’ll send you monthly reports that you can actually understand so you know what I’ve been doing and how well it’s working.
  • Reviews – We have a review call each month to discuss results and make any necessary adjustments.

My approach to SEO is not to throw in some keywords, use some dodgy techniques, and run a few reports online that I’ll just rebrand and send on to you. I won’t optimise your site for search phrases that don’t support what you’re trying to do with your business. And I won’t promise anything I can’t deliver.

I will, however, make sure I understand what you’re trying to achieve and why and will recommend a strategy that supports this. Clarity, transparency, and best practice.

FAQ

A: SEO copywriting is the process of writing website content to help your site rank in searches while clearly explaining your services and encouraging enquiries. It combines search intent, structure, and keywords with persuasive, human-centred writing so your website is easy to find, easy to understand, and easy to act on.

A: A one-off website project focuses on getting your website live or rewritten. Ongoing SEO support focuses on helping you keep and build gains by increasing authority, targeting new search terms, refreshing content, and improving visibility month by month – instead of launching and just stagnating.

A: Service businesses rely on proving trust and expertise, offering value, and providing clarity. Regularly posting content like blogs and case studies helps demonstrate your experience, answer client questions, and signals to the search engines your website is active and relevant.

A: Content typically includes blog posts, case studies, page refreshes, FAQs, and SEO updates to existing pages. The focus is always on content that supports search visibility as well as proving authority and helping potential clients understand your services.

A: Most service businesses will see improvements in visibility and engagement within 3–6 months, with stronger and more consistent results likely over 6–12 months. SEO is cumulative, so results build over time rather than happening instantly. There’s no ‘magic formula’ and results will depend on many factors. However, you will always know what you can expect.

A: Yes. Optimising and improving existing pages, blogs, and case studies is often one of the most effective parts of ongoing SEO support. This is especially true if your content already reflects your expertise but just isn’t performing well in searches.

A: Yes. Ongoing SEO and content support is particularly effective for small and medium-sized service businesses looking for sustainable growth without relying on paid ads or constantly posting on social media. Your website belongs to you and is a valuable resource you should utilise.
